—The building was all-encompassing, otherworldly and vibrating with history. It was a monument suspended somewhere between past and present and it was slated for demolition.—

You Lucky People is a sequence of 60 photographs that traces the death of a shared familiar world (Honest Ed’s). The book is an archive of how it felt to lose an integral part of a city and its history.

At its core, it is about being with something at the end of its life and everything that comes with that: the introspection and feelings of confusion, nostalgia, hopelessness, loneliness, denial etc. and how these feelings and perceptions move and shift as one comes to terms with the loss.
